Happy Holi

The streets of Mumbai will be painted with beautiful colors as the most colorful festival is right around the corner. That’s right ladies, Holi is almost here, and as a tribute to this colorful festival  I decided of adding some color to my otherwise plain white nails.  Here is a quick and easy way to make a style statement with fancy nails right from the comforts of your home.

THINGS YOU NEED:

  • A base nail paint (opt for white or black as the polka dots would stand out in comparison to them)
  • Two bright colors (opt for bright colors or neons which are definitely in this season)
  • A clear nail paint.
  • Toothpick

STEPS TO FOLLOW:

STEP 1: Apply the white nail polish on you nails and let it dry completely before moving onto the next step.

2

Step 2: Apply enough nail paint on the toothpick so that it can fall as a blob on your nails. You can even dip the toothpick in the nail paint bottle, personally I find that very messy.

3

STEP 3: Make two diagonal lines of polka dots on your nails. Start from the base of your nails and work down to the tip.

4

Step 4: Repeat Step 2 again but with a different color nail paint; and, you can use the same toothpick if you would like to.

5

STEP 5: Make two more diagonal lines consisting of tiny polka dots across the center of your nail. Space them out evenly and don’t go too close to the tip of your nails.

6

If you don’t want to leave the tip of the nail plain white, you can even add two more lines of polka dots in a different color to make your nails extra colorful. I settled for two colors because I didn’t want to over do the nail art and just wanted to keep it simple.

Step 6: Apply two coats of clear nail paint once your nails are completely dry and voila your nails will look apt and colorful just in time for Holi.
