Have you ever wanted curly/wavy hair but were too afraid of the hot irons and hair sprays that would damage your hair? Personally I get sick of things too easily, and I wanted to come up with a new way to curl my straight hair, so I tried this:
Follow these steps and get beautiful wavy hair without using any curling irons, curlers, or hair sprays.
Step 1: Divide your hair in three vertical sections. Start with 1.5 inch of hair from each side of your middle partition and go all the way to the back of your neck. I didn’t braid my bangs and left them out because I didn’t want wavy hair sticking out on the top of my head..
P.S. If you want really tiny waves, then make a few more vertical partitions and if you want loose waves then just opt for two partitions.
Step 2: Secure those three partitions with a tight rubber band. Make sure that the rubber bands are tightly tied or else your pony tail with droop down after the next step.
Step 3: Dampen your hair with water – you can either spray some water from a spraying bottle or just bend and twist your neck in the sink and manage to get your hair wet (Like I did.. LOL). This step is important because as your hair dries it will mold in to the shape that it is bent or twisted in.
Step 4: Now unsecure one partition and french braid it. Start with the middle partition ONLY after the side partitions are braided to avoid getting your hair out of place.
Step 5: After you have braided your hair, let it stay for a good 10-12 hours. The longer you keep the braids the longer the waves will stay in place. You can do this early in the morning if you want these waves for a night out or you can do them at night and sleep with it (it’s not that uncomfortable) if you want it for the day.
Step 6: Untie the braids gently and very lightly after getting ready. You can make use of your straight bangs and keep it to the side or clip it up in the middle for extra volume. This should be the last thing you do before you step out of your house to avoid messing your hair up while getting ready.
I know some of you ladies may not know how to french braid your own hair, so here is a video tutorial that will help you do that.
This was my very first vlog (video blog) and I hope you guys enjoyed it. : )
