Bebe’s Tropical Rendezvous

Recently I attended the Tropical Rendezvous event at the Bebe store, in Bandra. The event was hosted by Stephannie Timmins, blogger at Feisty Fox Diaries.  I had a lot of fun at this event, and it wasn’t merely because of the delicious cupcakes I gorged upon (although that didn’t hurt) but rather their clothes which were so appeasing to the eyes!

Bebe’s Tropical Rendezvous Collection was inspired by the tropical paradise that a bebe girl dreams about. Their collection consisted of jumpsuits, maxi dresses, body cons, crop tops, midi skirts, peplums, and tons of outfits with unique cuts, mesmerizing embellishments, and plunging necklines. Bold prints and bright colors were found in their garments which made me feel like running to the beach and taking a vacation. Butterflies, bird wings, tropical blooms, parrots, leaves, palm trees, and sunset prints were seen in shades of orange, yellow, green, pink, and cobalt blue with a hint of black. As for the accessories, Bebe showcased bright colorful handbags, statement belts, and tribal inspired neck pieces to compliment their outfits in order to complete the tropical summer look.

I wore a bright yellow floral top (Ginger, Lifestyle) and black leggings to go with the theme of the event and I paired it up with my new floral shoes that I purchased from Dubai (you must have known if you are following me on Instagram). Luckily these shoes were perfect for this event, you will find out later. 🙂

As the event progressed, Stephanie hosted the ‘Bebe Style My Look’ contest where bloggers, stylists, and fashionistas had to choose a chit which had different themes mentioned. Then, 20 minutes were given to the participants to style their look from Bebe’s new tropical collection. Some of the themes were resort chic, print on print, date night, red carpet, yacht party, etc.  After a selection of their themes, bloggers were asked to describe their look based on the themes, along with a walk down the pink carpet. Hereinafter the judges would decide the winner of the ‘Bebe Style My Look’ contest.6 copy

The theme I got was Tribal Look. I was extremely nervous when I picked out my chit as their collection is versatile and there were too many looks that could be created by combining several pieces together. Looking for outfits in the store was a struggle as 20 other fashionistas were running around trying to get their look together in less than 20 minutes and let’s not forget the never ending line in the fitting rooms. I went around the store and spotted a cheetah print dress and leopard print leggings but I knew I did not want to be too obvious with the theme. I have a very petite frame and although that can have it’s disadvantages, my circumstance worked wonders for my theme. I started looking for over sized outfits as the body-cons and fitted pieces were not available in my size. I almost gave up till I found a gorgeous printed caftan dress lying on the floor in the fitting room. I tried it on and voila! I was ready to go. I found their chunky tribal inspired neck pieces and put it on. The dress went well with the shoes I was already wearing, which I had intentionally planned since I knew that I was going to participate in this contest and the theme was tropical.

All the bloggers, stylists, and fashionistas did a really good job styling their look based on the theme that was given to them. Then Stephanie announced the winners of the contest and I couldn’t believe that I had won, yay!! Roma Manjerekar, Brand Manager Bebe, crowned the winners of the contest with pretty floral wreaths and gave us fabulous Bebe Vouchers too.

All in all it was a great event and I had an amazing time 🙂
